We completed the stow of the Lower holds, and started and finished the ‘tween decks too. There were some large pieces of equipment being RTA’d, including a CAT D6R bulldozer (weighing in at 22t), and a CAT 325B excavator (26t). The bulldozer went into the hold in near marginal conditions, with blowing snow and 30 knot winds, but things calmed down a bit for the later loads. Pumping of fuel was completed at 1740, with approximately 825,000 litres delivered in 28 hours. Clearing the line of remaining fuel took a bit longer than anticipated, but the bulk of the pack-up was completed by 0130 this morning. A fantastic job by all concerned. This morning, cargo RTA has continued with the hatch covers being stacked with the remaining 30-odd containers. Everyone paused for a minute’s silence at 1100. We have great weather at present… fingers crossed it holds.
All the best, Doug and Dave
