Comments

We departed Hobart last night on time. A big thanks to all who assisted in this effort, particularly the Shipping and Supply Services section and the crew of the L’Astrolabe for getting us away from Hobart last night.
The first salinity sea water sampling occurred today. It is a basic process - fill 3 bottles with water from the sea water line on the vessel on a daily basis and manual record, date, time and bottle. This information is also recorded by the underway data system but in the event this system goes off line there is a manual record as a backup.
Most passengers are travelling well with the entertainment beginning this afternoon with some beautiful photos and footage of animals and sights from the Arctic and Falkland Islands shown by Nat.
Cheers
Leanne
