Our new passengers in the Krill aquarium have settled into life onboard the ship quite well and seem to be happy with their new environment. Helen and her team of helpers are doing great job of keeping “the kids” happy and well, and so far our kids are playing nicely and have not caused any great issues. A “naughty corner” has been identified though just in case things change on that front.
Conditions have been rather favourable for us and we are taking full advantage of this with the ship zooming along at around 16 knots at the moment. Conditions are expected to deteriorate during the night though, and whilst we would slow down at night any way at these latitudes due to potential icebergs, the conditions forecast will swing round to have wind on our bow, so that will slow us down a little as well whilst bringing a bit more of a roll to the ship than we are currently experiencing.
Life onboard for most passengers now is back to the time honoured routine of squeezing in things like report writing, fitness programs, movies, more paperwork and standing on the Bridge watching the Southern Ocean glide by, all scheduled to occur in between meal times of course.
Cheers,
Deepy and Brett
