Yesterday ended up being another great day of helicopter operations. By the end of the day we had racked up another 36 ship to shore flights which transferred another 31,119Kg of cargo ashore. This included all remaining IBCs of SAB, which brings the total amount of SAB flown ashore to Mawson to 47,048 litres. We also back loaded another 3,084Kg of Mawson RTA cargo, which completes the back loading of all Mawson Priority 2 RTA cargo. Well done to everyone involved for another great day of operations.

Today we are unable to fly due to the weather conditions. We currently have winds averaging 35 knots at the ship, low cloud and blowing snow which is making visibility very poor. Whilst there are no helicopter operations occurring, the crew have been busy none the less. They have been out working to move all remaining Priority 2 and 3 Mawson cargo onboard up from the lower hold to the tween hold to make it more accessible to us when flying ops begin again. The weather conditions didn’t make it the most enjoyable of jobs to be doing but they still managed to get everything up into the tweens by lunchtime. The work done today will put us in a very good position for flying operations tomorrow, so thanks to the team for getting that work done for us.

Tomorrow and Sunday are looking like good days for flying so we are looking forward to getting back into the swing of things tomorrow and hopefully having another good day.

Cheers,

Deepy and Brett
