Conditions eased off nicely late yesterday and through the night which was appreciated by all onboard as it enabled us all to get a good night's sleep.
The Iceberg Sweep is now up and running. Personnel onboard are asked to nominate a date and time for when they think we'll see our first iceberg for the trip. The winning iceberg must be visible from the vessel (ie radar only sightings don't count) and be at least the size of the vessel. The Officer of the Watch is the sole adjudicator on whether an iceberg meets the necessary criteria and is declared the winner. So as you can see, there is no possibility of any bribery or corruption taking place in this competition.
The training and briefing program is being finalised and with the calmer conditions being experienced, tasks that haven't been able to be completed around the vessel over the last couple of days are getting done today.
Oh, and happy birthday Dave from Johnno and all of us out here on the AA!
Cheers,
Deepy and Brett
