We continue on our southerly track to avoid the worst of the weather systems that seem intent on trying to give us a more traditional taste of what the Southern Ocean can offer weather wise. We fired up the second of the Aurora's engines late yesterday afternoon to put a bit more speed into our transit to avoid getting caught in the worst of these weather systems, which would slow our transit down a fair degree. We are skirting the edges of the first of these low pressure systems at the moment which is causing a bit more rolling of the vessel compared to yesterdays smooth sailing. Unfortunately though we are trying to outrun two low pressure systems, and it's the second low pressure system that seems to have taken a real fancy to us, so much so that it's growing in size just to ensure we don't miss it. We should have the joy of receiving its blessings tomorrow.
All onboard are settling into the daily routines that ship board life brings us. Planning meetings are starting to ramp up, field training sessions have commenced and the mandatory briefings programs are being developed. The evening movie session is proving to be as popular as always and yoga and pilates classes have also commenced.
Cheers,
Deepy and Brett
