Last night was on one hand exciting and on the other just really uncomfortable. The wind and swell remained constantly high for much of the night as we pitched and rolled our way north. Conditions began to ease around lunch time today and we have now settled into a regular roll that will remain with us until we pull in alongside in Hobart.
The majority of expeditioners are up and about at some time during the day, though only briefly before returning to their movie watching in the recreation room, or to their safe horizontal position in their bunks. Meal times are not such a focal point in our day at the moment, with most sessions having less than 50% of people turning up.
The dogs are travelling well and have had a few walks in the hold and even a walk out on the heli deck amongst the cargo after lunch. Both the dogs and their handlers enjoyed the break in the fresh sea air despite being covered in sea spray by the time we all returned inside.
Cheers, Nicki & Sharon
