After embarking the ship and completing our safety briefings and drill we departed Hobart under blue skies and sunshine. The weather has been kind to us so far and most people have now adapted to the roll of the vessel and are up and about. We can now negotiate narrow corridors and doorways with the roll of this ship like experts ... well almost.
Thankyou to all at Kingston Head Office and the Cargo and Biosecurity Facility for your assistance with our preparation and departure. Thankyous must also go to our family and friends for your patience with our delays and the support that you provided. We're well on our way now - we'll see you on Friday Macquarie Island.
As well as having our fingers crossed for good weather for our resupply we wish our friends on the Aurora Australis fine weather and smooth sailing/flying for your air resupply of Mawson in the coming days. We look forward to hearing that you are on your way home after a successful changeover and resupply operation.
Cheers, Nicki and Sharon
