Yesterday evening, the AA hosted an expeditioner's engaging account of
what is involved in undertaking and supporting climbing expeditions on
Everest.
Proceeding on course (some say faster than a launceston racehorse),
voyage management and crew are continuing with preparations for arrival
and disembarkation. An arrival program has been disseminated and
expeditioners are beginning to ready their luggage and cabins in
anticipation. Science projects are continuing as is the monitoring of
science samples being transported onboard.
An all expeditioner briefing is scheduled after dinner this evening,
followed by an auction at the 'Huski' bar in support of Camp Quality.
Crew and expeditioners have been invited to contribute items of value
for the auction with proceeds to go to a variety of charities. A number
of items destined for the auction were on display this afternoon
highlighting the skill and workmanship of particular Davis expeditioners.
Winners of the darts tournament have been announced. Congratulations to
Rhys for 1st place in the singles tournament and to Jane and Scott for
their win in the doubles.
Finally, we wish a very happy birthday to Miss Emma Kirk.
