Yesterday afternoon, Tina and Bill, the two Bureau Of Meteorology
weather forecasters aboard the AA conducted a seminar on Mawson climate
and 'do it yourself' forecasting. Both spent 4 months on Davis station
providing forecasts for both Davis and Mawson stations. Now onboard the
AA we are grateful for their daily forecasts of weather, wind and swell.

Science projects are continuing as is the careful monitoring of storage
conditions for the samples onboard. Voyage management has completed a
review of standard operating procedures relating to resupply operations
and work continues on performance evaluations and 'end of voyage' reports.

This afternoon, the ship's crew are conducting a routine inspection of
all life jackets as part of scheduled safety checks.

The darts competition and ongoing friendly game of 'Assassin' are
continuing. Also this evening, the ship will host the Southern Ocean
Premier of Mary Meets Mohammad (MMM), a documentary by AAD Field Leader
and FTO, Heather Kirkpatrick. Heather has also worked for RedR and the
UN in Pakistan. MMM will be followed by a "Questions and Answers' on
humanitarian work.

Our estimated arrival time in Hobart has been designated as the morning
of Saturday 1st of March.

To inaugurate our new daily 'Aurora heroes' feature, Dave Pinch would
like to thank whoever took his clothes out of the dryer and folded them
so carefully.

Cheers, Andy, Brett, Dave and James
