This morning beneath light snowfall, ship to shore resupply operations
continued between the Aurora Australis and Casey Station. Thanks to
careful planning and the professionalism of the AAD and P&O personnel
involved, resupply was safely concluded by midday today with all
remaining ship based expeditioners returning to the Aurora Australis,
including a newly embarked expeditioner, formerly of the Aurora Basin
North drilling team, escorting to home the freezer container of precious
cores they have collected for analysis.
The ship will shortly depart for Davis station on the next phase of
Voyage 4.
Weather permitting, group physical exercise and potentially, field
training seminars are planned for the coming days in addition to the
regular schedule of films and personal presentations that we continue to
enjoy.
Voyage management once again expresses its thanks to all involved in the
Casey resupply. Particular acknowledgement must be made of the excellent
work of the P&O crew, the Casey shore based personnel and the ship based
watercraft team whose professionalism and good humour made this a
smooth, safe and successful resupply.
Cheers Andy, Brett, Dave, James
