There has been some easing of the ice and we have continued to make progress through leads interspersed with some heavy ice sections. Yesterday we travelled approximately 20 miles as the crow flies before ceasing at 2100 hrs. This morning we recommenced at 0500 hrs and have made some steady progress. We hope for continuing progress over the next 24 hours as we slowly make our way to the relatively easier conditions in the marginal ice zone. Over the last 24 hours the bridge has been a hive of activity with expeditioners keen to watch our progress through the patches of open water we have encountered.
All on board are well and in good spirits.
Cheers Tony and Mike
