Comments

While we have remained in our present position over the last 48 hours, the consistent northerly winds have closed up the pack ice making our ability to move not possible for the next few days at least. A change to more southerly winds is expected tomorrow tonight however their forecasted intensity is such that a significant change in the ice condition is not expected soon. Visibility is still low due to low cloud and persistent snow showers. This low cloud is preventing us receiving a clear satellite image which will allow us to fully assess our situation and assist decision making.
All on board remain upbeat in spite of this setback. Some are keeping busy assisting the ship’s crew on various tasks around the vessel whilst we await an opportunity to continue our voyage home.

Cheers Tony and Mike
