Overnight we had 50 centimetres of snow which was quickly cleared off our sea ice roads and shipside “wharf” with the snow groomer. It had little impact on our operations and we have continued to make good progress. Yesterday afternoon we completed the refuelling of the station Brad, Ty and the refuelling team delivered 600,000 litres to the station without a hitch, a job well done. Yesterday we commenced back loading of RTA (Return to Australia) cargo and that will continue now until we are finished.
The temperature today at Davis is +1.1 deg C, it’s no wonder they call Davis the “Riviera of the South” The sky is clearing with the sun starting to peep through. It certainly makes for great working conditions on the sea ice for the resupply crews. Joe and the Aurora Australis crew are doing a great job discharging the cargo from the ship in a very safe and timely manner.
Cheers Tony and Mike
