Comments

Our route remains unchanged with strong headwinds restricting our speed overnight, these winds are forecasted to abate this afternoon and tomorrow.
Yesterday we completed the third deployment of our three planned Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) deployments.
Detail plans are being put together for cargo and refuelling operations and briefings for all those involved will be conducted on the ship over the next couple of days.
Last night Renato delivered another travel orientated presentation. This time it was on the 1600km walk he completed through France, the Pyrenees and Spain. It’s more than likely that one or two expeditioners may copy some of Renatos’ travels after they return from Antarctica. The scenery and culture shown on the video was spectacular. A big thank you to Josh who donated his “spot the iceberg” sweepstake winnings to the Camp Quality Charity.
Sleep last night was difficult due to the pitching and rolling action of the ship and everyone is looking forward to the relative calm of being in the sea ice which hopefully will be tomorrow afternoon sometime. Clocks were retarded one hour last night and will be retarded again tonight by one hour.
Cheers Tony and Mike
