So, with a deteriorating weather forecast in hand we had pretty much worked out that today was the last roll of the dice. Roll we did and we have come up with another five biopsy samples, another possible seven individual blue whale IDs, and another satellite tag deployed. All in all it has been an outstanding day at the office which is still going. As I write, the "Remora" is still on the job with a pod of compliant and agreeable animals, so hopefully there will be even more science to be achieved.
The weather for the next 4-5 days looks pretty uncomfortable, so it is likely we will start the long passage north later this evening. All is well onboard and morale is high.
