Comments

We are now operating in the edge of the ice pack at the entrance to the Ross Sea, however despite having acoustic tracking on several whales, the weather precludes any effective work output. With a favourable forecast in hand for moderating conditions overnight, tomorrow is shaping as a good opportunity to get with the whales, provided they hang around!

The sea ice has been a little challenging over the last 24 hours. The heavy winds have caused the pack to separate and blow out, so everywhere we go now has ice and bergy bits strewn around keeping the bridge team on their toes. The upside of the weather is that everyone is getting a bit of a break from routine and so we are enjoying a quiet Sunday.

Until Tomorrow,

Regards Chris, Margaret, and the VWhales Team
