Today marks the birthday of not only Adam the ships 3rd officer and Nick the ships 2nd Officer but also the ship, the RSV Aurora Australis, who's keel was laid the same day Nick was born. Happy birthday to all three!

Our current position in the ice pack remains the same, with the south easterly blow dropping off and visibility improving. We intend flying a reconnaissance flight later this afternoon to see what our options for breaking free of the pack are...

Most of the expeditioners are taking the opportunity to catch up on reading and occasionally going to the movies.

Cheers
Andy, Brett
