We are still moving rhythmically back and forth as we were yesterday and last night. Our progress is slow but noticeable. You can now only just make out the igloo we left behind at ice station 7. More excitingly, more and more cracks are appearing in the ice ahead.
The wind is now moving through the south east into the south and, we hope, will assist the ice in moving apart and becoming easier to navigate.
Science continues on the samples collected at the previous station and in preparation for arrival at the next. We are also starting to think about the voyage home and how we'll pack and prepare all of the equipment and tools currently filling the labs around the ship...
Cheers
Andy, Brett
