This floe looked like being a difficult one for all. Lots of rafted and
broken rubble refrozen and covered in metres of snow did not bode well.
As it turns out most people are happy so far with their results. Despite
it being hard going moving around on the ice.
The ROV (remote operated vehicle) was a success. The AUV (autonomous
underwater vehicle) is waiting for a bigger pond behind the ship to
operate from. This may appear once the ice starts to ease, which we hope
will start to occur tonight sometime, when the winds swing round to the
south.
I took a break from the bridge of the ship to check out the projects on
the ground (well, ice anyway). Fortunately I can run quite fast as
pretty much every group I visited attacked me with snowballs! Despite
the fact that I was giving out squirms and sour bears!
Cheers
