Comments

Yesterday saw the boating party complete all of their tasks
successfully, so much so that they deployed again this morning for more.

Rob successfully ran the krill pump overnight from the CTD room, the
intake hose held in place over the ice by the aft 7 ton crane, even
catching some of the little critters!

Other projects seem to be going well. Klaus has been running around
helping many of the different projects problem solving and taking ice
cores and most people are now impressed by his prowess with a power drill!

We have completed a FRRF (Fast Repetition Rate Flurometer), LOPC (Laser
Optical Plankton Counter), a 100 micron dip net, a ring net for
plankton, and a deep CTD (Conductivity, temperature and depth) to 2600m
and are now packing up the ice station.

The current plan is to leave here tonight (there had been plans to stay
overnight) as pack ice around us is finally easing apart, making it more
likely that we can make it to the fast ice edge and the Dalton Glacier
polynya before we need to turn north and head for the outer ice edge.

Cheers

Andy, Brett
