Comments

We had hoped this morning we would be able to start an ice station on a nearby floe but woke to discover a long gentle swell had broken up all the ice for miles around.

Mid morning saw a clearing of the clouds, enough to fly a helicopter reconnaissance.

As a result we are now sailing though reasonably clear leads between vast areas of floes. It really is a much nicer way to travel than bashing back and fore as we were yesterday.

We hope to continue south until we find something we can play on for a few days. Finger crossed!

meanwhile most folks are managing to keep busy crunching data or fine-tuning equipment and techniques for the next floe.

The evening lecture series in the theatre is becoming more popular than ever...

Cheers

Andy, Brett
