Comments

We have spent the last 24 hours in heavy ice covered in a deep layer of
snow. Nick is at the helm. He thrusts on and on in the hope the ship
will spring free. Thus far we have been unsuccessful...

The time has not been wasted, with the STS team (Science technical
Support) preparing moorings, improving washing systems, further
developing and fine tuning the software to control the ROV (remote
Operated Vehicle).

Scientists are still analysing data and preparing for the next ice station.

Realistic data is currently eluding Karen in the radiation van where she
is measuring photosynthetic rates of phytoplankton as the ships
shuddering is adversely effecting her fragile equipment.

Cheers

Andy, Brett
