The vessel starts to move, fast, hard and large, we plough into the pack ice again. This time we are lucky and as a result we are stationary at ice station 1. The previous attempt ended with us slicing straight through the ice floe, cutting it clean in two!
Teams are now on the ice surveying and marking work sites and transects, another party is mooring the vessel so we can decouple the propeller and test the AUV. Both helicopters are in the air flying a RAPPL's (Radar, Aerial Photography, Pyrometer, Laser Scanner) transect flight, having successfully tested the equipment on a previous flight earlier today.
