We are travelling in a gentle 3-4M swell and fortunately for most, but not all, the two days of trials has allowed them to get used to the motion
Further planning was also discussed for the NIWA (National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research) wave buoys looking at various options to deploy them in the event the helicopters can't fly.
Christian, our FTO (Field Training Officer) is running the first of the training sessions today which all expeditioners are to attend (except the sea sickies who we'll do later).
Brett the DVL (Deputy Voyage Leader) is busy helping Christian find and assemble all of the field gear around the vessel.
The marine science support team are all busy preparing for our arrival.
Cheers
Andy, Brett
