Comments

Due to low cloud over the plateau of the island this morning the decision was made to load all the remaining hut resupply caged pallet cargo back onto the ship then reposition the ship at 4 different locations down the east coast and fly all the cargo into the huts without having to fly down island over the plateau.

All field huts have now been resupplied (some 20 tonnes of food & supplies) and RTA empty gas bottles and waste have been back loaded to the ship.

All round trip programs have also been completed with some very happy and very tired expeditioners now relaxing onboard ready for the ride home.
We still have one helicopter on station as we ran out of daylight hours to load it in time this evening so the plan is to steam up and down the coast overnight then head back into Buckles Bay and load the last helo along with the last five passengers and depart Macquarie Island at 1000 hrs local Tuesday the 12th of March heading for Hobart ETA for alongside the wharf is 0700 Friday the 15th of March 2013........see you soon.

Regards Micky, Martin & Pud.
