Another late start today due to the high winds associated with the latest low passing through the region. We have now discharged 22 tonnes of food from the +4C & -18C “reefers” late this afternoon and have back loaded another 22 cage pallets in the process.
All that remains is the remaining RTA and the delivery of around 200,000 litres of fuel for the station generators which we are aiming to complete tomorrow with the help of the weather gods and the dozens of crew and expeditioners rostered on for the day.
Most of the round trip program people are slowly starting to trickle back into station from the field and we are expecting a large influx of expeditioners to return to the ship late tomorrow afternoon in readiness for our departure home.
