Weather again delaying an early start ship to shore but we managed to set ourselves up onboard for cargo operations mid afternoon when conditions began to improve and our first lift off the vessel by helicopter commenced @ 1500hrs local and by the time light ran out this evening we had discharged another 46 tonnes cargo ashore and back loaded some 6 tonnes of RTA onto the ship.
All that is left to go ashore now are 11 more lifts for the LARCS and the contents of the +4 & -18 Refrigerated Containers then we can continue with loading the remaining RTA.
Round trip programs continue with a collection of live marine samples now safely tucked away in the onboard aquarium, we also have the Japanese film crew back onboard after their sojourn down island, along with 17 passengers a mix of round trippers, summerers and winterers who have completed their work programs on station.
Plan for tomorrow is to continue resupplying the field huts down island and more ship to shore cargo operations with a view to refuelling on Sunday if the weather forecast holds.
