We spent the last 24 hours out at sea sitting out the high winds, large swell and poor visibility. Late this morning we arrived back at Mawson awaiting the winds to reach sufficiently slower speeds so that we can put the jet barge in the water. We will then proceed with passenger transfers and cargo operations. At this stage we are still awaiting those conditions to eventuate with a favourable weather forecast to hand.
This evening if wind speeds reach below 15 knots the ship will enter horseshoe harbour and mooring of the ship will proceed with the help of the Mawson on-shore team and the Watercraft Operators from the ship utilising IRB’s. With the ship in the harbour refuelling can then proceed along with the remaining cargo work.
Cheers Tony and Simon
