We are heading to Mawson. Overnight and this morning we trawled for Krill with some success catching some 2500 samples, we had hoped for 4000. There may be an opportunity for further trawling on our return trip from Mawson to Hobart.Our planned arrival time at Mawson is 1000 hrs local time. Ice still remains in Horseshoe Harbour at Mawson and this will have to be broken out with assistance from the ship and the katabatic winds which are a feature of Mawson. Resupply and other activities will then proceed as soon as is possible.
A quiz night is planned for this evening with any money raised going to Camp Quality which is a charity generously supported by the Aurora Australis crew and all expeditioners who travel with them.
