Comments

We are experiencing a steep swell from the south west causing the ship to pitch and roll heavily. This is more like the Southern Ocean we have come to know and love (well almost). This makes for movement around the ship a bit more challenging but at least the new expeditioners on board are getting the full Southern Ocean experience which they were anticipating.

In the last 24 hours we have deployed a further two Argo Float Buoys at Latitudes -54 and -56. We received confirmation from the CSIRO yesterday that the first Argo Float Buoy we deployed was already providing information back to Australia.

Meetings are happening with round trip project managers to ensure that all required resources and support is planned and available for when we get to Davis. This will ensure their projects are delivered in full and as efficiently as possible as there is only a small window of opportunity of approximately 8 days to complete these projects at Davis before we depart for Mawson..

Ships clocks were retarded by one hour this morning. All on board are keeping well and the camaraderie is exceptional.

Cheers

Tony and Simon
