Comments

The southern Ocean continues to be kind to us providing the ship with a comfortable roll. We have altered course to a south westerly direction now toward Davis Station. Clocks were put back one hour last night and at present we are on Casey time.

This morning a number of expeditioners accompanied the ship’s crew members who were carrying out the weekly safety inspections on the ship in all areas including the engine room. They were treated to an inspection of the engineering complexities of the Aurora Australis and were appreciative of the opportunity to do so.

Detailed planning is in full swing for the resupply of Davis and Mawson Stations with formal and informal meetings being conducted on board. The resupply of two stations on the one voyage presents an interesting logistical challenge however all involved are determined to make it a complete success

Cheers

Tony and Simon
