Hi All, Our final day at sea and thus the final sitrep for V2 12/13, and what a blast! The weather has calmed down and warmed up – for some of us, 13 degrees is positively tropical! Aboard the AA today everyone has been busy with final preparations for arrival back in Australia – packing bags, returning the specialised antarctic clothing and personal protective equipment we were issued with, and cleaning cabins in preparation for the next voyage. Our 0700 alongside time tomorrow is now firm and we have slowed down slightly as we are now confident of making it on time. All onboard will be having a very early start and will have plenty to do in the morning before we disembark.
Voyage Management have been busy today closing out the last of the paperwork and finishing off the plethora (that means a lot) of reports and returns we need to submit. Everyone onboard is looking forward to stepping back on Terra Firma Australis and seeing family and friends tomorrow.
Oh, and thanks to the excellent catering staff in AA it has been a 2.5 kilo voyage. Thanks team!
Regards Chris, Leanne and the V2 team.
