Ahoy Shipmates,

We are well and truly underway making for Hobart town. Overnight we have been negotiating the band of pack ice which surrounds Antarctica and have been slowly making our way north. Many of the outgoing expeditioners onboard have been enjoying the unique views, quite a few of the team stayed up until 0400 this morning watching the changing colours as the sun sank below the horizon into twilight and the moon rose.

During the day today we had to break our way through some close pack ice, but as I write we are making good speed towards the ice edge. This evening we will enjoy a trawl deck BBQ and special occasion to celebrate our departure from the frozen continent. By tomorrow I expect we will be out in the Southern Ocean making good speed for home. The weather forecast continues to look pretty good as well.

Until tomorrow,

Regards

Chris, Leanne, and the V2 Team
