The struggle continues... We dodge, weave, push, turn and plough on in our quest to get to Davis. Yesterday afternoon we were hopeful of arriving at Davis at a reasonable hour today, which may have allowed us to commence operations. Alas that is not to be as overnight we encountered heavier patches of ice which have forced us to cut an interesting track through the ice - so interesting that expeditioners on board have decided that our voyage track should be the design that will be used on the back of the voyage t-shirt.
Whilst still overcast, visibility today is quite good and we have a grand view of the ice out to the horizon, where the water sky teases us in the distance. With the Captain and ship's Officers spending many hours up in the crow's nest plotting our way through the ice, hopefully it won't too much longer and we'll start seeing the open water that is underneath that water sky.
Cheers,
Andrew and Mark
