Comments

The race continues with the vessel steaming along trying to get
ahead of a low pressure system just off to our west. We won't fully beat it
as it seems to want to chase us as much as we want to get ahead of it, so
things out here will get a little bumpier for us over the next 36 hours. We
will at least have missed the worst that this system could have thrown at
us.

Expeditioners are settling into ship board life with planning meetings
starting to occur, a movie schedule seems to be developing, lecture series
being worked up and calls for people to step forward to become members of
the voyage social committee are being answered. The CPR is still being towed
behind the vessel as well.

This morning we held a safety muster with all expeditioners required to be
up on the heli deck in their full Antarctic survival equipment. A good
opportunity for us all to try our gear on again, get used to wearing it as
well as get familiar with the procedures we must follow onboard the vessel
in case we were to experience a real situation. Practice makes perfect!

Cheers,

Andrew and Mark
