Comments

Today has been another successful day at sea. Since last sitrep we have deployed a further 11 sonobuoys and successfully tracked one rather difficult blue whale. Unfortunately we were unable to deploy the moored acoustic buoy today, however this still remains a priority for the coming days. Just the one blue whale was sighted today but the sightings team have recorded large numbers of common dolphins with one school exceeding 100 animals, they also recorded two elusive unidentified odontocetes and 3 wandering albatross.
The plan now is to trek west/north/west along the 200 metre contour and continue to deploy sonobuoys periodically in the hope of locating more blue whales.
