Comments

This morning we monitored the weather forecasts and some of our team even went to Cape Bridgewater to check if the swell had dropped. The ‘live’ report was favourable as were the forecasts so we left port at midday. At the 70m bathymetry contour we dropped our first sonobuoy but we only detected a couple of faint calls D-calls after an hour or so of monitoring. The sea and swell dropped nicely though so it turned in a beautiful afternoon on the water. We will drop another sonobuoy as we head further south into deeper water so hopefully we’ll hear more whales from this one. The forecast beyond Tuesday is still poor so we may again have to retreat to port during Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

REGARDS: Mike
