A very busy day yesterday saw the completion of refueling operations for this resupply voyage. Refueling was performed at the same time as cargo operations to station in the later part of the day. Cargo movement from the Aurora Australis to station progressed well, both by LARC and helicopter with some RTA cargo in late afternoon by helicopter.

Yesterday’s weather window has not continued for us, with no ship to shore helicopter cargo operations possible today due to low cloud. An easterly swell has prevented anchoring of the ship today, cargo operations continue with LARCS from ship to shore as the Aurora Australis maintains a steady position in Buckles Bay.

Round trip personnel transfer ashore this morning was completed by IRB, with all round trip projects now being underway and some on station nearing completion. Successful marine invertebrate sample collection and transfer to the onboard aquarium has been underway daily by one round trip group. Field trips down island by round trip groups are proceeding successfully including the boardwalk construction at Sandy Bay.

On station, winter handovers are underway with all winter inbound expeditioners now on station, either permanently or on daily familiarization visits. Several departing winter expeditioners are now on board the Aurora Australis.

REGARDS: Don, Simon and Brett
