The day went according to plan (so far!), with the remaining 312 drums flown aboard by the two AS350 helicopters sling loading them in nets.
After smoko we flew aboard the remaining passengers, all ground crew who had been essential to the operations at Casey; air ground support staff, Communications operators, helicopter engineers, forecasters, etc.
We plan on setting sail for Hobart after lunch at 1400hrs Casey time, after the holds, the cargo and the helicopters have been lashed and secured to withstand an autumn crossing of the southern ocean.
A huge thanks to everyone aboard and ashore for working so efficiently, so well and so safely together.
