Comments

After a slow start yesterday the pace gradually quickened such that by day's end there was no cargo remaining on deck and work had begun on unloading the tweens (the upper of the two holds below the main deck). All of the Mawson wintering team have now moved ashore and are getting settled into handovers in and around their resupply roles. Once work was completed at around 9.30pm last night all enjoyed some time ashore. Refuelling preparations are 90% complete with just the hose to be run from shore to ship. All things being equal pumping of around 600,000 litres of SAB ('Special Antarctic Blend') diesel will commence this afternoon. It should take about 24-36 hours of pumping to transfer the fuel. The weather is looking good all the way through until Sunday.

Regards

Andy, Sharon and Chris
