Comments

Beautiful sunny conditions for continuing unloading and loading RTA (Returning to Australia) cargo. However the forecast is for the winds to pick up in the afternoon to around 25-30kts and then increasing further around midnight to 30-40kts with gusts to 60kts, then to further increase to 65 – 70kts with possible gusts to 90kts on Sunday. Consequently part of our day today was dedicated to ensuring everything is prepared before this weather hits, including disassembling the unifloats and storing them on the land to reduce the chance of them becoming damaged. Once cargo operations are complete, we will up anchor and head out to sea for the next few days and return to resume resupply when the weather abates. Tonight Casey station will be holding their handover ceremony; this is where the current winter team hands over the “keys” to the station to the incoming winter team. REGARDS: Sharon, Fred and Jill
