The planned commencement of transferring fuel to the station was delayed today, due to high winds and the forecast of deteriorating weather in the next days. Unloading of cargo continued and we were able to start utilizing back-loads on the barge to receive some RTA (Return to Australia) cargo from the station. The snow petrels have certainly been enjoying the weather we have been having as we watch them playing in the wind just off the ship. Christmas is nearly here – thanks to the galley team and volunteers for decorating the ship with lots of Chrissy decorations. It is quite surreal seeing Christmas decorations around the ship with a snowy, cold backdrop outside as we are so used to associating Christmas with summer and often the hottest part of the year. We will continue to keep a close eye on the weather to find a suitable window to complete the refueling. REGARDS: Sharon, Fred and Jill
