Sea conditions remain similar to the previous days, however our cloud cover has reduced for periods throughout the last 24hours. Lots of wildlife has been sighted including: fin whales, sooty albatross, white headed petrels and white chin petrels. Many albatross are circling around the ship giving ample opportunity for people to try out their cameras.
The first ice berg was sighted at 2200 last night. Cargo and barge briefings were held today for the crew and watercraft operators, many other expeditioner’s attended as well to gain an insight into the ship side of the resupply. With the calmer seas, engine room tours commenced today. They are proving to be very popular with over half the expeditioners on board expressing interest in participating in the tours. Several more will be held over the next few days as we continue on our way to Casey. The third CPR was retrieved today.
Dessert of the day: Golden syrup dumplings with vanilla ice-cream – yum!
