Comments

Over the last 24hours we have been experiencing overcast conditions along with a reasonably gentle motion associated with a moderate sea and swell. Numbers at meals seem to be increasing, indicating most people are finding their sea legs. Since the seas are currently quite reasonable, we have taken the opportunity to commence some of the briefings required before arriving at Casey, kicking off with the environmental briefing. This includes watching a couple of videos, one about approach distances to animals and ensuring we give them their space and the other about cleaning all our gear to ensure we do not introduce alien species into Antarctica. Following the videos we ask everyone to bring down any clothing/boots/backpacks etc they have worn or used in the outdoors for cleaning before disembarking the ship. The galley continues to produce desserts that give the taste buds on your tongue a work out, especially the sensuous sticky date pudding. REGARDS: Sharon, Fred and Jill
