Despite a windy morning, cargo operations have progressed well throughout the day. One of the lower holds of the ship has been completely discharged of cargo and backloaded with cargo returning to Australia. Refuelling continues with the expectation that all fuel the station will require for the year will be transferred by this evening. We have rosters in place to ensure the fuel line is constantly monitored during this process. At times the refuelling crew are pleasantly surprised by visits from emperor and adelie penguins. As we progress through resupply, people on round trip projects are returning from the field. The first to return was a party of four who had two magnificent days away. During this time they visited several huts, spending the first night at Bandits Hut and the second night at Platcha Hut. The second group returned today after spending three days away at Amanda Bay Emperor Penguin Rookery. They reported the weather was marvellous and wish they could have stayed longer.
