We are definitely heading in the right direction with the sighting of the first iceberg at 54 28S 118 37E yesterday. Emergency muster drill was held this morning, finishing just before a hail shower came through. We have been experiencing a variety of weather conditions ranging from sunshine to snow showers. Helicopter briefings were held today and meetings continue in preparation of resupply. Another two Argo Floats were deployed overnight. Midnight saw the 3rd CPR unit retrieved and the 4th unit deployed. This may be the last one, depending on when we reach the ice edge. A small special occasion was held last night with most retiring early due to the little sleep they got the night before due to the rough weather.
The popularity of talks continues, with tonight’s presentation on the work being conducted in the Prince Charles Mountains over the summer. REGARDS: Sharon and Leanne
