We were ready at green Gorge early this morning however 40kt winds and low cloud forced a quick change to go to the station and attempt a refuel, while also delivering and retrieving cargo and people. We were anchored in Buckles Bay in just 25kts of wind and some 600m of floating fuel hose was dragged ashore by zodiac to deliver fuel to the station. After much effort and setup we were plagued by technical problems and in the end we were unfortunately unable to deliver the quantity we needed to before dark. Despite the best efforts of many. We’ll try another day. We still achieved lots today as at the same time as all of this the crew worked flat out getting cargo ready and it was flown off to the station while RTA cargo came back to the ship. People went either way from ship to shore by LARC and Zodiac and it was a busy scene in Buckles bay made busier when a pod of Orca cruised through for a look! We also retrieved all the Hobart bound passengers and delivered the last of those staying for the winter to the station. By day’s end the crew had the hold empty of cargo for Green Gorge and it is all (130 bait pods!) now on deck ready to fly ashore. The crew also managed, amongst all of this, to lift a LARC onboard late in the day which is also Hobart bound.
