Comments

Our first iceberg yesterday afternoon at 1714 ship's time, at 52*29'S, 118*31'E. A 200 m long pinnacled berg, that turned up at just the right time (I won the iceberg sweep!). Several more since then. The bergs combined with the passing snow showers last night and today underline the fact that we're getting into the southern bits of the Southern Ocean. The ship rolled heavily at times last night and this morning, which made for a restless sleep. An ARGO float successfully deployed yesterday, and the CPR recovered and redeployed as well. Another hour off our clocks to adjust for our westerly passage.
