Comments

Normal Mawson conditions prevail at last as we woke to a strong
katabatic wind blowing off the continent. So far we've not been able to
fly any sling loads to or from the station as a result of the strong
wind gusts (up to 45 knots). This has not stopped the team of Aurora
Australis and AAD expeditioners from keeping a steady stream of cargo
flowing onto the heli deck and the ice pad which has been set up on the
port side of the vessel.

So far the three helicopters have worked tirelessly to keep up to the demands
of the heli deck and ice pad. They are averaging a 40 minute round trip
and are moving up to 2500kg an hour between the three helicopters.

Cheers

Andy, Margaret and Kate.
